"Zelimir Stanojev was honoured last week as the Society of York Region Artists (SOYRA) held its annual art show in Aurora. Mrs. Stanojev recreated a painting of Yonge Street that he took from an old postcard. The Town of Aurora purchased the painting for its collection."

With this painting, the artist participated at the 2006 Annual Heritage Art Contest held by Town of Newmarket and won an Honourable Mention.
Below is the painting on exhibition at the Municipal Offices.
The idea for the painting came from the photograph the artist has taken in the summer of 2005.
